Hi, I’m Karim NDIAYE
Operations leader with over 20 years’ experience in transformation, regional expansion, and leadership on infrastructure projects (telecom, renewable energy, logistics) in West and Central Africa.
Born of two cultures, I learned early that strategy only matters if it touches people’s lives. From Paris to Dakar, from boardrooms to project sites, my guiding thread is the same: linking decisions to concrete impact, with an obsession for execution and knowledge transfer. This approach was forged alongside multidisciplinary teams and in demanding environments where rigor and trust must be earned daily.
My early career began at Mondial Assistance in Paris, followed by roles at CSI Matforce, ST‑Ericsson, Aggreko, and MAN Diesel & Turbo, where I strengthened supply chains, operations, and energy project management across Sub‑Saharan Africa. These roles fostered my appetite for complex environments, tight deadlines, and team alignment in challenging conditions.
I studied at Université Paris 12, CNAM, and London Business School. This Franco‑African duality shapes a pragmatic leadership style: understand fast, decide clearly, execute cleanly, keep learning..
Karim Ndiaye
Infrastructure builder and catalyst for change serving Senegal.

Article published in Teranga CEO magazine | Translated by Deepl

In Senegal’s energy, telecommunications and sustainable development landscape, few figures embody the synergy between the private sector and the public interest as strongly as Karim Ndiaye. A visionary in the field, a manager of continental stature and a key player in the energy transition, this discreet leader has been shaping the contours of a connected, resilient and ambitious Senegal for more than two decades.
Since 2021, Karim Ndiaye has been Regional Director of Helios Towers Senegal, a company specialising in telecom infrastructure sharing. In just a few months, he has successfully structured all operations: obtaining the licence, recruiting a 100% local team of 60 people, and implementing an ambitious programme to deploy 1,500 sites across the country, including 400 in rural areas. This dynamic promotes inclusive digital coverage and the emergence of a more equitable digital economy.
The investment agreement signed with the Senegalese government for 385 billion CFA francs illustrates the confidence placed in his ability to transform an industrial ambition into a lever for national growth.
Advocate for renewable energy
Before telecoms, Karim Ndiaye made his mark on the energy sector in West Africa. At Meridiam, between 2016 and 2021, he was the West Africa Director in charge of asset management and, above all, the CEO of four independent power producer (IPP) projects in Senegal, totalling 120 MW of solar energy fed into the Senelec grid. These projects, delivered on time and under budget, are a testament to his rigorous and results-oriented leadership.
A social and strategic vision
Through his involvement with the Senelec Foundation, as the private sector representative on the board of directors, Karim Ndiaye is helping to establish a sustainable development strategy focused on education, health, agriculture and access to water. He brings his strategic expertise, rigorous governance and ability to mobilise resources for projects with a strong social impact.
A career built on resilience
His professional career began in the 2000s at Mondial Assistance in Paris, where he coordinated international medical repatriation logistics. He went on to work at CSI Matforce, ST-Ericsson, Aggreko and MAN Diesel & Turbo, consolidating his expertise in logistics, supply chain and energy project management throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
Educated at Paris 12 University, CNAM, and London Business School, Karim Ndiaye has a dual French-African culture that he puts to use in developing concrete and pragmatic solutions.
A committed leader for a sovereign and sustainable Senegal
Karim Ndiaye embodies a new generation of African leaders at the crossroads of the major challenges of our time: energy transition, digital transformation, and social inclusion. His career path is that of an infrastructure conductor, whose strength lies in his ability to reconcile strategic vision, operational excellence, and collective impact. For Senegal today and tomorrow, he is undoubtedly one of those builders on whom the future can count.
